Classes and Workshops

Creative Discovery Workshops

Students go through a guided discovery workshop where they explore tools of choreography. The workshop has a short theoretical component outlining basic choreographic concepts of theme, space, time, shape and content. The main part of the workshop leads the students to discover their own original movement through a series of exploratory choreographic exercises.

Workshops for the Community

Multi-Generational workshops are for all ages, from 4 - 64. The class reawakens an ageless feeling in the body, as participants shed their adult inhibitions and reconnect to the simplicity of the body in motion. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the class, in which they can participate at the level they wish, encouraging an atmosphere of fun and freedom. The class uses creative improvisation, basic hip-hop and the fundamentals of contemporary dance with focus on joy of movement and creativity.

Partnering Workshop

The Chimera Project is known for its intricate and risk-taking partnering style. The company dancers share this work in a workshop that focuses on creating comfort and trust in partnering. Dancers are encouraged to take risks in a safe and structured environment and are offered new tools and techniques in creating dynamic, exciting and safe partnering.

Contemporary Dance Technique Workshop

Contemporary dance class taught for beginner dancers through o advanced students. Class is comprised of classical barre-based warm-up and contemporary center work.
