Marq Frerichs started his training as a dancer at the age of eleven at the George Brown School of Dance. He then attended the National Ballet School of Canada from 1982- 85. Having been offered at position in Germany he moved to Ulm to work in the Stadt Theatre Ulm under Pierre Wyss. During his two seasons there he worked with the ballet, opera and theater companies.
Upon returning to Toronto he joined Desrosiers Dance Theater. Marq was a principal dancer with the company for ten years and became the company ballet master. The company toured extensively throught Europe, North America and Asia. As ballet master he taught master classes for the company, notably at the Aspen Dance Festival and at S.U.N.Y. Purchase.
After leaving, he pursued his carreer as an independent dancer and teacher. As a dancer/ballet master, he has worked with Cas Public in Monteal and the Chimera Project in Toronto. He has also worked with the Cirque de Soliel, Celine Dion and various film and television productions. He has also worked in the Canadian fashion industry as the in-house wardrobe stylist at the Globe and Mail.
Currently he has returned to The National Ballet School to received his certification, TTP-NBS.
